About

Hey! I'm Dana, which you probably figured out. I have a tall, nerdy, and handsome husband, Max, an amazing son, Theodore aka Teddy, a sweet baby girl, Marlowe, and a pain-in-my-butt cat, Starla aka Starly Cakes. We've lived all over the midwest, including Indianapolis, Chicago, Madison, WI, and most recently, Michigan. I have my undergraduate degree in biology and a teaching certification in secondary education. I've taken a temporary hiatus from my teaching job to find a little more of a work-life balance (which we all know doesn't actually exist), but I hope to get back to education once my children are a bit older, as I truly feel like it's my calling in life. I also teach children's and family yoga in my free time, which is never.

Becoming a mom turned my life upside-down in an incredible way, as it usually does. It's the best thing that ever happened to me, but of course it wasn't without its many challenges. The beginning was, uhh, rough. There was jaundice and breastfeeding struggles and reflux and colic and sleep deprivation (this is not the blog for sleep advice- I literally went 10 months only sleeping 1-2 hours at a time) and food allergies. Had it not been for other mom sharing their struggles, advice, and triumphs, I'm not really sure where I would be (probably sitting in a corner rocking back and forth with several empty ice cream cartons and wine bottles at my feet). So that brings me here. I can't promise that you'll come across anything earth-shattering, but I can say that if you are in the trenches of motherhood, whether it be the sleepless nights of infancy or the tantrum-filled days of toddler hood, I got your back. Let's laugh (or cry) about it together.

My current list of ever-evolving interests include coffee (forever), fashion (read: Target clothes), babies, education, science, yoga, food, art, wine, crocheting, home renovation, food allergies, and much much more.

So thanks for stopping by and welcome! I hope you decide to stick around.
